To celebrate his 40th birthday, Morph’s getting involved in Europe’s largest live street and urban art festival, Upfest!
A mural designed by well-known Bristol graffiti artist CHEO will be created during the festival which takes place between the 29th and 31st July.
The portrait has been revealed and will be sprayed live at the festival – we can’t wait to see CHEO in action! CHEO is one of Bristol’s most well known street artists who began drawing and painting graffiti characters in the mid 1980s. CHEO has a very recognisable cartoon style – if you went to Upfest last year, you may have seen his Mr Graff artwork, a collaboration with Mr Men Little Miss.
As well as the giant mural and exclusive prints which will be on sale, a series of smaller Morph portraits will also appear across the festival site, along the streets of Bedminster and Southville over the three days of the festival.
Morph’s co-creator Peter Lord said this about the collaboration:
“I’m so happy that Morph will be taking part in Upfest this year – it’s a fantastic local event celebrating the creativity at the heart of Bristol. And I love CHEO’s version of Morph, it fits so well with his artistic and mischievous nature!”
