It’s time to announce the winners of our second Golden Morph competition! After the success of our 2015 competition, we wanted to give fans another opportunity to show off their animation skills – and we weren’t disappointed!
We had a great response to the 2016 competition with a wealth of fantastic entries in both categories. Once more, we were seriously impressed by the skill on show, from great story ideas and interesting sets to fantastic music selection, special effects and slick animation techniques. We also loved the variety this year – each of our entries had a unique story to tell, with different approaches to bringing their Morph adventure to life. In short, it was a very tricky task choosing the winners!
We started by selecting a shortlist then sat down with Morph’s co-creator, Peter Lord, to film his reactions and thoughts as he watched the videos. After watching the shortlist not just once but twice, Peter selected the following lucky entrants as his winners!
Under 16 winner:
Johann Graham Engelhardt for ‘Crooked Picture’
Under 16 runner up:
Toby Loby for ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’
Over 16 winner:
Guillaume and Francois Hardy for ‘Shopping Day’
Over 16 runner up:
Shannon Wang for ‘Puddle’
Our winners will receive an exclusive, hand-made Golden Morph model and a copy of the Cracking Animation book, signed by Peter Lord. Our runners up will receive a signed book. We’ll be featuring these entries in a special winner’s playlist on Morph’s YouTube channel, plus you can take a look at all the great competition entries on our gallery page.
Well done to everyone who took part – we really enjoyed seeing you have fun with animation so keep up the great work and keep your eyes open for more Morph competitions in the future!
