We’re finishing off Morph’s 40th year celebrations with our annual Golden Morph animation competition! It’s a chance for you to write, direct and animate your own unique Morph adventure which will be showcased on the website and judged by Morph’s co-creator Peter Lord. As always we have have two age categories and two fabulous, bespoke Golden Morph trophies as prizes for our winners! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
1. We want you to make a short Morph animation – it can be about anything you like, with Morph in a starring role! There are two categories – 16 and over and under 16s – and you can enter as many films as you like. Keep your films short and sweet – they need to be no longer than 1 minute in length, please.
2. You can download a free trial of Aardman’s Animate It! software to get you started or use a streamlined version of the software with our free app. Animate It! is easy to pick up, plus there are lots of tips you can follow on the Animate It! website. You might also like to take a look at the winning entries from our previous Golden Morph competitions here and here to get some inspiration (but please don’t copy other fans’ ideas!)
3. Once you’re ready to share your animation with the world, you’ll need to upload it to YouTube and then email us the link and which category you are entering to GoldenMorph@aardman.com. We’ll be uploading all your videos to our gallery page.
4. Finally, be sure to get your entries to us by 9pm GMT on Sunday 14th January 2018.
All the competition entries will be judged by Peter Lord, Morph’s co-creator. He’ll pick his favourite entries from each age category, with two lucky winners receiving an exclusive golden Morph trophy, created especially for the competition by Aardman’s expert model-makers! Our winners and two runners up will receive a copy of the Cracking Animations book, signed by Peter Lord, and a Morph goody bag. Plus the winning films will also be featured videos on Morph’s YouTube channel for the world to admire!
